When does the next episode drop?

The new series premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in June of this year, following a month of anticipation after Max released the trailer and promotional poster in May. The first two episodes of Full Circle will be available to stream on Max starting on July 13, with two new episodes released weekly until the finale on July 27.

Shane and Ilya may work better with them as supporting players rather than the emotional engine of season 2. The two-episode season premiere immediately set the tone, efficiently introducing Shane and Ilya while refusing to play coy about the physicality at the heart of their relationship. No episode has dipped below a 9.3 on IMDb, but Heated Rivalry episode 5 is the emotional culmination of everything that came before.

Heated Rivalry episode 5 currently holds a perfect IMDb score, with more than double the number of ratings as any other episode, signaling not just enthusiasm but broad engagement.

And that's just the first episode. Full Circle marks Soderbergh’s return to the miniseries form, and to much praise. With Heated Rivalry already renewed for season 2, the big question is whether the show continues to center Shane and Ilya or pivots to a new central couple.

Season 1 quietly tested that idea. Based on the 1963 procedural crime drama High & Low about an extortionate kidnapping resulting from mistaken identity, Full Circle centers on husband and wife Sam (Claire Danes) and Derek Browne (Timothy Olyphant)'s family.
